Pulling Weeds, Planting Seeds
“If he gives me credit for being a plodder, he will describe me justly. Anything beyond that will be too much. I can plod. I can persevere in any definite pursuit. To this I owe everything.”
This quotation is from the man known as the father of modern missions: William Carey. Carey and his wife arrived in India in 1793 and soon moved to the city of Serampore. This man translated the Bible into six languages, and also translated portions of the Bible into 29 additional languages. Carey and his family faithfully plodded for 41 years in India. But you may not know that he also faithfully plodded in another area of his life: in his garden!
