Adoption tells the story of an eternal Father. God is eternally the Father of Jesus Christ, and Jesus is eternally the Son of God. God is a Father, not just by virtue of what he does in adopting us into his family, but God is a Father in his very nature. Let us rejoice in being adopted into God’s family by grace through faith in the perfect Son of God.
