Gospel of John

“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (John 12:24).

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26).

“I and the Father are one” (John 10:30).

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I

Sheep are weak, fretful, and vulnerable to many dangers. So what are sheep good for? Glorifying their Shepherd.

“For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind” (John 9:39).

Adoption tells the story of an eternal Father. God is eternally the Father of Jesus Christ, and Jesus is eternally the Son of God. God is a Father, not just by virtue of what he does in adopting us into his family, but God is a Father in his very nature. Let us rejoice in

“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
