Sheep are weak, fretful, and vulnerable to many dangers. So what are sheep good for? Glorifying their Shepherd.

“For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind” (John 9:39).

Adoption tells the story of an eternal Father. God is eternally the Father of Jesus Christ, and Jesus is eternally the Son of God. God is a Father, not just by virtue of what he does in adopting us into his family, but God is a Father in his very nature. Let us rejoice in

“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32).

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scriptures have said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’” (John 7:37-38).

No one understands us like Jesus, no one divides like Jesus, and no one saves like Jesus. There’s no one like Jesus!
